"House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said on ABC’s “This Week” program that U.S. banks may need an “increased investment” that needs to be accompanied by a stronger government presence.
“If we are going to put money into the banks, we certainly want equity for the American people,” said Pelosi, a California Democrat. “If we are strengthening them, then the American people should get some of the upside of that strengthening. Some people call that nationalization; I’m not talking about total ownership, but we’re just saying.” (Bloomberg. com)
"Some people call that nationalization; I’m not talking about total ownership, but we’re just saying.”
Nancy, Nancy, Nancy, What is it you are "just saying."? You are so wrong that you can't even form a coherent sentence on the subject. Wtf is it if it is not nationalization in it's truest form?
"Pelosi said economic conditions are “dark, darker, darkest” and need immediate assistance. She said Democrats would consider some revisions proposed by Republicans, who complain that they’ve been left out of the process, while also pressing ahead with stimulus legislation.
“It all has to be done right away because our bill has to come to the floor this week,” Pelosi said."
Speaker Pelosi, isn't political debate a healthy means of of preserving the all important process of checks and balances? The Republican faction of Congress are entitled to be included in the legislative process, regardless if their input is included in the next Senate boondoggle. I suppose when you represent a state such as California, which is at the top of the list of states heading to bankruptcy court, it must be "dark, darker, darkest." Why does this have to reach the floor this week? Could it be you desperately need the checks to be written as soon as possible? Your constituents in California are hanging by a thread. This brings me to another point. California leads all other states in health care spending for ilegal immigrants. Billions and Billions of dollars are budgeted/spent by your state on these people. Obamas plan puts a band aid on your states medical costs by including billions of dollars to U.S. health care programs. Yes, my dear. You need this bailout to pass into law with super sonic speed.
Nancy, I will close this post with something out of your Bible. 2nd pelosi, Chapter 1, vs. 5
"House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is fond of quoting a particular passage of Scripture. The quote, however, does not appear in the Bible and is “fictional,” according to biblical scholars.
In her April 22, 2008 Earth Day news release, Pelosi said, “The Bible tells us in the Old Testament, ‘To minister to the needs of God’s creation is an act of worship. To ignore those needs is to dishonor the God who made us.’ On this Earth Day, and every day, let us pledge to our children, and our children’s children, that they will have clean air to breathe, clean water to drink, and the opportunity to experience the wonders of nature.”
According to Claude Mariottini, a professor of Old Testament at Northern Baptist Theological Seminary “It is not in the Bible,” Mariottini said. “There is nothing that even approximates that.” (picture: Nancy Pelosi arrives at the House of Reps. soon after assuming duties as the new Speaker of the House.)
