There was not a public ceremony this morning when President Bush signed the Bank of America authored housing "rescue" bill. Why not? Could it be because informal polls report 80% of AMERICANS are against this bailout? The bill itself runs @700 pages. Analysts and economists are finding it hard to dissect and get a handle on exactly what the bill contains and the possible positive/negative ramifications which will result from its implementation. These people are baffled and they have had days in which to wade through it and draw conclusions. How could the House of Rep. and Senate possibly understand completely what is contained in this enormous package? They did not have the luxury of time as the bill went through changes on it's way to a rubber stamp vote of not only YES! but HELL YES! Hilarious Hank and his Traveling Financial Medicine Show must be laughing their asses off. THE INMATES HAVE BEEN GIVEN OFFICIAL GOVERNMENT DISPENSATION TO RUN THE ASYLUM IN ANY MANNER THEY CHOOSE, WITH THE PROMISE OF NO INTERFERENCE OR ACCOUNTABILITY. Not content with commandeering our financial markets, they now have a blank check to spend on our future. God help us.

For all that it was worth, it could have been a 700 page book of blank pages with the very first page including the only text in the entire book..

 

"We'll fill this in as we go, but don't worry, you can trust us."

 

Perhaps in really small print on the last page...

 

"I hope we get the hell out of office before they get to this page."

 

In reality there is actual text in the bill, but it is all more or less useless. The credit card monitoring provision is the one that scares me the most! Check it out...

If there was ever any doubt that this would be the worst presidency in history, it is now written in stone for all eternity. Obama is gonna need a "Do Over Veto Power" provions written into the constitution if he has any chance of getting us out of this mess.

One should also be critical of the democrat controled congress.  They initiated this monster and passed it before it got to Bush!

Haymore, I am in complete agreement with your point. I have voted the Republican ticket my entire adult life. This past year has been one of change in my political beliefs. There is no longer a difference between the two major parties. They trot out the "differences" while campaigning but take on generic, cookie cutter shapes of professional politicians once elected. There is no need to use the words Republican or Democrat any more. All branches of Govt. including the Executive, have abdicated either responsibility or accountability or both in their mad dash to run away from this global crisis.

Mr. Will Profit best blog of the YEAR! Exactly what I was warning everyone about in my previous blogs. There is no stock market anymore. They now have the capacity to make the charts say whatever they want them too. You may say they would not do that! Give it time, it is like a lie, it kind of builds on itself. First it is O.K. to do this then this and then that. You know why they do not issue M3 money supply statistics in the Government anymore. Not because it is redundant which is the official line of why the statistic is not published. Because we would be able to see every time the PPT spent a sh%# load of money. Now they have a half trillion plus what they already had!!!! This is all fantasy now.

Lets get out the calculator 1/2 trillion dollars $ that they can leverage at 38 to 1. Then using derivatives leverage 100 to 1. Now the size of the equity market is 317 trillion. READY

$.5 trillion X 38 X 100 = $1,900 Trillion or 1.9 to squash the 317 trillion stock market. Like an elephant trying to crush and egg. He might miss the first time, but eventually that egg is scrambled.

Just to show you what a Quadrillion pennies look like a link to show you how that many pennies would look then multiply times a hundred to get what the PPT now has. The PPT is consortium of banks who are the market makers and so really they pay very little in commission.

Sorry Corbin, I had to clean the puke off my monitor when I read this "Obama is gonna need a "Do Over Veto Power" provions written into the constitution if he has any chance of getting us out of this mess."  OMG!!!!!!!  I hate to bring politics into this, but it was both the Republicans and the democrats who got us into this entire mess!  Obama is an IDIOT, and will do nothing except raise your taxes, give money to anyone who wont work, or isnt a legal resident, grossly dismantle our capitalist system, not to speak about what he will do to our military, all in the name of change??? What change? Higher taxes, more welfare programs, more illegal immigrants, higher gas prices, .....excuse me(undocumented workers), gay marriages, deeper deficits, and no answers to anything???  Sorry not interested. 

Now I am not defending Bush or trying to push McCain, but IMHO this is the clearest election in many years, and McCain is the only candidate running.  Sorry, but i don't think Obama's experience as a "Community Organizer" is worth much in the face of todays problems..... Also, please someone let me know what the heck a "Community Organizer" is, and how it qualifies you to be President.  I guess he organized the Community in Chicago, and his is a marvelous community?  Dont know, just sounding off, and still wiping the puke from my monitor!

Sad thing is, Obama (if-elected) is going to be elected by a majority of young people (like myself) who know nothing about Obama except that he is Change. Change by bringing troops back home, and by taking away those tax-breaks to the "rich," which in his opinion, includes myself, a student working part-time. No matter how much I try to talk to my peers about what his policies actually mean, they just spout off some of his catch phrases about, CHANGE, HOPE, AUDACITY, INSPIRING. Hope and audacity isn't going to get you results, it's just going to get people to expect that you are going to get results- I guess that's all he needs to get elected. It's going to be a sad day come the first Tuesday of November.
