Well, this is was my last trade for today.  I'm fresh out of cash.  Good thing tomorrow is payday.  I'll be making an ACH deposit first thing in the morning.

Wow, how much do you plan on pumping into this thing? As long as it keeps going down = more ACH transfers in and buying SBUX?

We'll see.  Honestly,  I'm mentally exhausted right now.  I'm going on vacation next week for 7 days.  Hopefully being away from the markets and a computer will clear my head and allow me to do some critical thinking on all of this.

I think you should be listening to whatever part of you posted the following question:

Just wondering if anyone has any opinion or experience using ETFs to either short entire indices ( Dow, Nasdaq, S&P ),  foreign markets,  or individual sectors ( retail, financials, etc... )

instead of pumping your (hard earned) cash into an overpriced consumer luxury in the face of a massive consumer slowdown.

Because then, you'd at least have some SZK to hedge your (very) risky one-way bet on SBUX.  If I wanted to "play coffee", I'd be buying Mr. Coffee stock, because people will make their own coffee and drive to work before they walk to work by way of Starbucks--and gas prices are forcing such decisions.

Thanks Lumburg.  I'll check out SZK.  I took a quick glance and it's appears up 20% since December, also sports a nice 3% yield.  Because I'm going to be holding on to Starbucks for a while,  I  might also sell some covered calls for Jan09 to and put the premium toward a hedge.
