Now that Ashton Kutcher and Oprah have officially embraced Twitter, expect to see more coverage of how Twitter is helping to shape the financial & investing landscape. For example, over at SmartMoney.com, there's a list of the 12 best financial pundits and traders using Twitter as well as a brief summary of how Twitter can make you a smarter trader. Condensing thoughts about the market into 140 characters, it appears, is a natural match for traders who want instant updates about the market in bite-sized chunks:
"Can Twitter help you invest? Increasingly, financial types from economists to actual traders are blasting out their thoughts on Twitter (always in 140 characters or less, of course). There are also free sites like StockTwits.com that compile Twitter postings on financial news, individual companies and broader market issues. Some of the updates are compelling — but as with so many other forms of digital communication, there’s a lot of dross out there, too."
What do you think? If you've tried Twitter, is it something that helps you trade better?
