We've added some more depth to our All-Star Commentator team. I am pleased to be joined at the announcer's table by option trader and educator Jonathan F. Maher, PhD. Welcome aboard!
Like many traders Doc Maher started out as something else. Educationally he has a PhD. in Engineering and an MBA from the number one ranked program for technology management. He worked in High-Tech for over 20 years holding many high level managerial positions in development and marketing.
Doc first started trading options back in 1984 while working on his Ph.D. In 2004 he founded DocMaher Trading LLC, an investment education company working with traders one on one. Since that time he has taught hundreds of people options strategies.
Doc's specialty is the more conservative "income strategies" which capitalize on time and volatility. These include Iron Condors, Calendars, and hybrid strategies such as the "W" trade shown in his logo. Although not guaranteed, income strategies are intended to be higher probability trades because they can profit over a wide range of stock movement.
