Volatility in Everyday Life

TradeKing loses a true All-Star

If you follow TradeKing's blogs, you may have heard that we lost a great colleague and friend this past Friday, Raul Ortiz. He was taken from us rather unexpectedly. Our thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones.

It's times like these that we must remember what is important in life - not trading or money or stock charts - but our family and friends. Of course no one likes to lose money, but we must keep things in perspective. Money is just that - money. If you lose it, there are ways to make it back. When we lose someone, there is nothing that can be done to bring them back. We need to remember to enjoy and cherish one another while we are together, because we never know when an unpredictable event may occur...changing our lives forever.

I am a bit distracted and would not be able to due justice to this blog today. Please visit again tomorrow to read about a new trade from one of our exciting Community members.

If you are interested, Brian Overby will be teaching a Live Webcast today on CBOE.com. The topic (ironically speaking) will be Implied Volatility and Predictability. Use this link to participate in today's event. You will need to login in order to proceed to the webcast. If you are unable to catch it live, it will be archived in our Education Center. Check back in a week for the link. (Education > Learning Center).

Today's webcast begins at 4:30 ET and lasts for one hour.
