Hello, hello...

Hello all!

With the recent launch of our new social networking tools comes a new member of the team here at TradeKing - and that would be yours truly! While I'm new to your world, I'm actually a long-time online community professional that has managed social networks in industries as diverse as food to entertainment to sports to travel.

I chose to come to TradeKing because I have been so impressed with both the passion already evident in our members - you! - in helping each other to make better trades, as well as the commitment of the team here towards creating useful, smart tools that are industry-leading (like our Trade Notes feature - check it out). There are more great things in store - stay tuned.

I suspect that most of you participate in other online communities as well as posting here. When I'm not "working" in community, I sometimes haunt such diverse sites as a Toyota Yaris enthusiast forum, some music industry blogs, and a couple of wikis for Homestar Runner and "The Office" fans. I'd be interested in hearing more about where you "hang out" online in addition to TradeKing.

The only other forum I regularly post to is dslreports.com. They have GREAT resources on everything broadband (including news), and a first rate Macintosh forum. It's well run by the moderators, and one of the best forums to post tech questions.

Other than here, I'm usually found on iStockphoto since I do stock photography as a hobby.

I use dslreports.com to check my broadband speed all the time (I'm on Sprint Broadband and I'm fascinated with how the speeds are affected by distance from tower, being in different cities, time of day, etc.) - but I just go right to my bookmark for the tool. I took a second look this morning and was impressed with the discussion and the quality of the community members' knowledge - so much useful info. Thanks for pointing me there.

Do you do specific types of stock photography (like food, landscapes, people?) Do you have a link to examples? I'd love to look!

The link to my portfolio on iStockphoto is on the lower left side of the screen when you view my public profile here.  I do almost anything, but food and buildings are what's most common in my portfolio.

I would say that 90% of my daily lexicon is obscure references to The Office or Homestar Runner. It's always good to meet a fellow fan of either but both?! You're obviously extremely cool.

Perhaps someday I'll get my feet wet with my own trades! I'm certainly learning a lot from everyone's trade notes and blogs, it's been a fantastic education already in the month I've been here.
