Streaming Quotes

Hi folks,


Once again our streaming quotes provider, Alpha Trade, is having issues providing quotes. We do not have an ETA.


TradeKing would like to apologize for these continuing service disruptions. We do understand completely the frustration that everyone is having with the service. We will update you as soon as we know more.

I was about to contact Tradeking about having problems with the E-Gate Menu and the streaming quotes every once in awhile. I appreciate Tradeking posting on this issue with candor. Thank you

OK, The markets have been open for three hours now. I posted a blog on this problem two and a half hours ago. I assume all the computer keyboards at Trade King are experiencing functionality disorders. I posted a blog a week or so ago about this same problem with streaming quotes. The cause was Alpha Trade being the victim of a fire that disrupted service. Fair Enough. Of course there was nothing posted here at Trade King about that situation until I posted on it. I also suggested at that time about TK being in a position TO POST A NOTICE ON THE COMMUNITY BLOG WHEN THEY BECOME AWARE OF PROBLEMS SUCH AS THIS. Here we are, three hours into the trading day and FINALLY a post is made acknowledging there is a problem. I think it is comical that TK has chosen to throw Rebecca, the community editor, under the bus in this feeble attempt to act like TK cares about this problem. I'll bet if it was a problem with the community site, Heaven and Earth would be moved to correct the problem. God forbid if important economic issues such as vacations, neck ties, taters and whatnot were not able to be blogged and posted. TK likes to blow its horn about awards and recognition it receives from various outlets. Let me enter the vast expanse and recognize a few things. TK streaming quotes are a joke. I would appreciate if y'all would contact me on the dates and times when this function is operational. That way I will know when I can actively trade and not waste my time. The process of going through two screens to consummate a trade is clunky and time consuming. 1. enter trade 2. check trade execution. Biggest complaint? This has got to be the slowest site on the internet. Changing screens is reminiscent of dial up internet service. I have a lot more to say but I seriously doubt that any one is listening or cares.

Alpha Trade has had more than enough time to fix any problems arising from the fire!  Actually they should have had backup plans & hot sites reserved & not gone down for more than a few minutes in spite of the fire. 

Non performance is always grounds for canceling a contract so I would suggest Tradeking switch to another provider.

Well like I stated in the above report I'm glad that TK acknowleged the problem. I do expect them to fix the problem though and if you (Will Profit) were instrumental in TK's posted concern then I thank you also. It seems to me that you were. Way to go. I think that most on here are listening and care and take it serious. Looks like TG does. Maybe after some delay. I'm willing to see if they're sincere or not. I'm betting they are. I have gone thru quite a few online brokers and will not hesitate to change if they're not. I imagine though that TG is a lot more frustrated with this problem that even we are. I'm not making excuses for them but every trader needs a back up quote source. Mine is from another online broker. It's not perfect either but much more reliable than the E-Gate Menu quotes. Thanks again for your part in this matter Will Profit.

Agree with Haymore. Although I don't use streaming quotes, I could probably see how having them go down is a big problem for traders. TK, if you've had problems with Alpha twice now, why not just dump them and go with a more reliable company. It would benefit everyone.

It's 6:50am the next morning (7/30) and I'm having a problem getting the streaming quotes to load, again.  Streaming real-time quotes is the most important tool I need from you.  There have been problems with Alpha Trade (on and off) since  I started here over two years ago.

I use a completely non-Tradeking source for my real-time quotes. Protects me from any problems that may arise from having all of my eggs in one basket.

 

Having said that, a lot of traders here count on real-time quotes for the timing of their orders and this needs to be resolved. One thing I learned  running my own business was that customers understand there will be problems and are a heck of lot more patient if they know what's going on.
