NFI is proving itself again.  They have a way with holding on to thier shirts when the times get rough, and are still moving in a bullesh manner.  From down in the $2 range, to now above $7 and still climbing.  Yet, the stockholder meeting in early May could end in the stock going through the roof on an anouncement of continuing good dividend payouts, or make (I believe) a temporary bearish move if divident payouts drop off now.  And that's still good to long term investors, since it shows dedication to survival.  The most recent news I've seen indicated that they won't drop thier REIT status until the beginning of 2008.  If such is the case, 90% of profit dividend payouts could prove to pay back recent investors there total investment in dividends alone.  But that of course also depends on where they bought in and at what price.  With thier book value still well above NAV and recent news of financial help from other institutions like Wachovia, they continue to prove to me that they are winners.  If you know something that I don't, please feel free to comment and let us all know.

On the other hand, LUM has been hit with the sub-prime crisis, and only 1% or less of all loans they service can be considered sub-prime.  With a return of approximately 13% in dividends trading at a low in the $8 range, it's looking like a good long term income producing stock with good promise of capital gains to make it even more attractive.  My money is in, so we'll see how things go.  Sometimes you really have to dig deeper into something if you really want to know, and I only put my money into companies (or managers in the case of funds) which (and whom) I have researched and believe in.
