Why is it too expensive?    Do you mean the price of the stock compared to the value of the company?   Or do you mean that at this price not as many shares can be bought as compared to a stock that is priced at $10?   

 If its the latter, my experience has been that I make as much money when I buy one share at $100 that moves 10%, and 10 shares at $10 and they move 10%.   The return is the same.   Psychologically it feels different, but this is only psychological.   

 I only ask because I'm just trying to understand and learn from everyone's thoughts and experiences.

For Visa, I wanted 100 shares as an entry point.  When it opened options weren't offered yet, so it was either caugh up the money or wait for the options.
