If a tree falls in the forest and no one's around

One thing that makes me go hmmm:  The short index funds (sds, dog, qid, etc.) .....  What happens if the underlying index keeps moving up?   (Maybe they make a thud at zero that no one hears).

On an ETF tangent:  Direxion funds are (in the process??) bringing out several 3x bull and bear etfs. (Currently the leverage is @ 2x --such as SDS being 2x short the S&P)   (Article on marketwatch plus elsewhere.)  Morningstar disses it, saying it will be good only for "daytraders and speculators who love to roll the dice."

Don't know about that question, but I've held QID in my other account for almost 2 months now. Was getting worried when the bear would be back, but it looks like the bear may be making a run again!

Yeah, QID has moved quickly the last three days.  That's one thing about the ultra funds, they definitely react.
