EBAY strangle?

Anyone playing an EBAY earnings strangle?  ...thinking about a strangle or just a long option (probably May ATM or ITM).  Unless I'm mistaken, they report at 2pm.

Staglers, HUH!!! intersting, are their any straglers left behind. Absolutely. Their will always be people that won't get it and try to BUCK THE SYSTEM. When they do get it, they will pass there BRIGHT AND SHINEY Objects onto others.

The rest of us knows what we need in our own lives, and know where to to get value, stepping with caution.

Either way EBAY has that cinched up. which hopefully long term, paralells with AAC in my philosophy.

I do not know the strangle Stradle method YET. I will look and educate myself in that type of investing.

The Long Option looks interesting if I only had a margin account. Which I know, where it is placed and can utilize at my WILL!! Peace

I don't know.  I have a bad feeling about E-Bay.  It's just a gut feeling.  I've followed this stock over the last year and a half and there's a lot of people who really hate this company.  Although their earnings might be good,  I think their longer term forcast might not be as great ( regardless of the economic slowdown).  Sellers feel like they were screwed since E-Bay implemented their most recent policies (because their sales margins are getting squeezed).  I think a good number of sellers, if they they haven't moved already,  are looking into it.  Ever since the Skype purchase,  I think analysts go out of their way to try and find the worst in this company and focus on that.    Two things I E-Bay has going for it:  The weak dollar and Paypal.   If you're interested, there's an article in the WSJ today on page B1 titled "EBays bid for buyers draws mixed reviews".

Yeah, I don't think I'd hold an option/equities for long.  I'm just thinking of just capturing a day or two movement of the stock from the earnings.  Tech is moving today after Intel's after-hours announcement yesterday.  It probably won't take much to be construed as positive this afternoon. (just pulled the trigger for May call strike 32.50)  ...still debating the put.

...coffee shop music...  Sitting here wondering if I can blame any losses on "acoustic reimaginings" like Van Halen's "Jump" being played by a sleepy-eyed art major.  (Some of my best friends are art majors.)  So, I'm sitting here deciding on an options play, and somewhere in the dark crevices of memory plays an odd tune, "...smelly cat, smelly cat..."

Trailing PE 125,  stock up from $26 in mid March, great balance sheet, any good CFO could make the numbers match or better, BUT what will the market think.  This post should be no real help to you - just thought provoking.

I'm thinking that today is a good day to announce (though it's 2pm Pacific) with IBM and Intel juicing the dow.  On the other hand, Ebay has recently had a strong run, so a pullback would not be unlikely.

I'm still sitting on the calls.  I'm thinking w/ the so-so Ebay quarter, the others (IBM, GOOG) may pull it above 32.50.
