Wal-Mart Classifieds

Wal-mart has started offering free classified ads on their web site.  Visit walmart.oodle.com to see the beta of the site.  If this catches on, I can see it really cutting into ebay's profits.  Walmart.com is one of the few sites that has the power to compete with ebay.   I'm not sure how (or if) Wal-mart stands to profit on this, but it looks interesting.

Watchout Craigslist....Walmart wants to take over your business too, even though you make no money.

Sounds a lot like Microsoft early strategy where they would buy out anyone who even looked like they might one day maybe turn into something that would be part of something that might compete with them.

Not sure what Walmart's angle is here, but why not. Wouldn't it be funny if people were sellng bargain bin Walmart items for a profit like they do on other sites, but on Walmart's own free ad site?

Undercut them with their own free service...now THAT's America!..:0)
