The coffee’s perking, my browser’s fired up – time to take a dive into the latest happenings in the TK Community:

As I write this, we have quite a few new faces rocking the top slots of the Leaderboard, including s3eak, POF!, InstantGain, and Rookie101 to name a few. I’d love to turn you all on to trade notes, so we can get a little insight into what your strategy and rationale is here. If you haven’t already, check out my post on why trade and position notes are awesome.

Of course, the big news this week was Bear Stearns (again). Locomac’s and Boca_Bobby’s posts probably sparked the liveliest comment-discussions around that. (Will Profit’s post on the banking sector sparked a record 25 comments, THE most-commented post we’ve had to date. It earns honorable mention here because the topic touches on BSC in a lot of different ways.)

In other news, here’s a hot forum discussion about Visa’s recent IPO. We’re up to a whopping 19 different groups. And I was happy to see this thread “Do You Like TradeKing?” where the answer, by and large, was yes.

Thank You , on behalf of the group and myself, I hope we passed the audition. Uh oh, wrong speech. It was gratifying to play devils advocate and receive such great response. The comments displayed the mindset of the traders in the trenches. No one was wrong in their opinion and every one was right. I sincerely mean it. I learned a lot about how widely varied our views on the market are. Thanks to all who participated. 

Have a good weekend big dog. I still have this crazy idea I am a good trader. I might be getting better at predicting the market, but a trader I am not. I guess that is what comes with years of experience. Hopefully I can learn from my mistakes. Good luck trading everyone.

Thanks for the update bigdog!  It will be interesting to see what happens in the next month or so with the MCGC rights offering.  Stock is down tremendously but holders as of wednesday last week are being given rights to buy one share at a discount for every 7 shares they hold.
