Is inflation starting to balloon?

Lots of speculation among financial blogs and media about inflation starting to balloon. Arthur Laffer wrote last week in the WSJ “Get Ready for Inflation and Higher Interest Rates”, and called the 1970s “benign” in comparison. SeekingAlpha’s Geoffrey Ching offered 7 investment ideas for profiting from inflation.

What’s the straw poll among you guys: are you girding up for inflation soon, and if so, when? What other ways to trade this are you mulling?

How can it not be inflationary when Timmy boy and Uncle Ben are printing money as if the presses where on steroids?  I am not a gold bug, but I am hedging with both gold and silver.

Inflation has been with us for years and is getting worse. A trip to the grocery store proves that point. No reason for higher interest rates as long as they keep printing money and lowering overnight rate. Oh, wait, they can't lower the overnight rate anymore. Oops. Now we got a problem. Guess the free ride is over. Time to pay the piper.

Well, that's a full-throated YES on upcoming inflation. Anybody want to argue the NO side?
