Here's some cool news: reporter Matt Krantz featured TradeKing's Options Playbook in his “Ask Matt” column in USA Today last Friday. Stocking-stuffer, anyone?
This also reminds me to introduce the online version of the Options Playbook, exclusively for TradeKing clients - something I forgot back in August when I first blogged about the Playbook. If you haven't stumbled upon it already, I invite you to login, then cruise on over to the Education menu and choose The Options Playbook.I gotta say: it's a great read, online or offline. You can start in the Rookie's Corner if you like, or check out super-friendly explanations of volatility, “the Greeks”, and other key options terms. Or jump straight to The Plays for a concise, very approachable explanation of the major options strategies, or “plays”, and the why's and how's behind each of them. We even get into rolling options positions, a common practice (that's under the “How We Roll” section). It's truly a great starting place for new options traders and a very handy digital reference for all options traders as you learn and expand your trading repertoire.
In fact, the best part of the Options Playbook in my view is its super-friendliness. We'd just had it up to our ears with all the stilted, overly formal, apparently willfully confusing and certainly very boring options textbooks out there, and we wanted to take a giant leap forward. And I'm proud to say, I think we did a bang-up job. Here's a resource both new and more experienced options traders can really rely on to give them the straight scoop on both opportunities and risks in various options plays. Definitely take a peek today - I think you'll love what you find there.
