Hello, folks, and welcome to the TradeKing Friday shout-out. This week's usually the quietest of the year for us trading-wise, so I'll make this quick. I did think a little peek in the Forums was in order, since I haven't checked out the action on that front lately.

Incidentally, it's fascinating to us how these various community-pockets have evolved to serve specific niches. Unlike blog posts and Trade Notes, which seem more outward-facing and market-oriented, forums have become home most often to more TK-specific, customer-service-oriented questions, either folks needing help figuring out a tool or service or offering suggestions for future enhancements to our toolkit.

I was interested in this brisk parsing of what one participant calls "Graham's infamous Intrinsic Value Formula". In another post, quite a few folks are interested in real-time quotes for light sweet crude. And if you're a mobile fan, here's a brisk discussion about what various members are looking for in a mobile trading platform. This is pure gold for us as we start actively researching our own mobile-trading plan. Stay tuned!

Another interesting thread covered approval level for buying puts and calls. It's surprising to some folks that just buying a call or put actually requires a higher options approval level than covered-call selling, since technically you can lose the entire value of your investment this way. Agmedia, who initiated the thread, makes an excellent suggestion for future consideration: if we could somehow limit the percentage of funds that a user can allocate to a more risky strategy, in some ways creating a "level 1.5" approval. It's an interesting concept worth a little research for feasibility.

(Incidentally, Agmedia, if you haven't downloaded it already, you might find Brian Overby's whitepaper The Top 10 Mistakes New Options Traders Make a useful read. Download the PDF for free here.)

That's it for me, folks. I'll look forwarding to catching up with everyone as the summertime crew comes back after Labor Day.
