Writing a Trade Note after you do a trade is a great way to keep track of WHY you made a move at the time you did so, something all great traders will advise you to do. Sharing your Trade Notes with the Community is a great way for all of us to get better at this craft of investing, together. Checking out our newly redesigned Trading Activity page, looks like you guys are loving leveraged ETFs and the financials this week. The #1 trader as I write this, Greenhorntrader, has gone to town on Ambac Financial Group (ABK), a move Recycle has also busted this week with great success. Unfortunately, neither has any revealing Trade Notes logged to give us the scoop. Please, tell us what your secret sauce is!
I gotta say: in addition to being whipsmart traders, a lot of you are unconscious poets. (How about that for an unexpected compliment?) As I type this, several of the Trade Notes popping up in the latest stream begin with some great quotables. For instance, buydow’s note on ADM IE reads like a haiku: “Cash corn fell below $5.00 today. Crush spreads improving. Stock price at 30 month low.” If buydow is channeling Sei Shonagon (of The Pillow Book fame), then DannyUpshaw is more All-American about UNG HO – call him our Tom Robbins or Richard Brautigan: “I made $180 on this before I got out of bed this morning.” Only in America, right? It cheered me right up to read that.
