I like ATPG, and have some.  I'm not familiar with TA.   (nor with Technical Analysis - TA - either).   I'll look at TravelCenters.

Igess, I see ATPG is up 50% since you posted that....    a week ago. Nice.

After a little research, I like what I see so far.

Very nice calls there, Keepingitsimple.

I have ATPG.   That has been some mover.
Late  -- I hope not too late -  I hate to buy after a big up move --  I have decided TA is still a value buy,  and I'm in as of today.

I honestly didn't think those two stocks would move up so fast.

Despite the run up of ATPG it is still very cheap, if you have a long term hold on it.  I'm not sure what the stock will do tomorrow or next month but the company has alot of things working in its favor over the next couple of years.  Still trying to find a way to buy more shares and having a hard time deciding what I would be willing to get rid of.  If you have a chance take a look at the presentation (the link is below) and slide 3 will show how undervalued the company is.  The price point if $60 per share mentioned earlier is the discount to future cash flow that I use.

TA is still cheap but I didn't expect it to hit BV anytime soon.

Well for some reason the link doesn't work.  If ya head out to their website look at the presentation slides for Sept 9, 2009 Rodman and Renshaw Conference.

Found link.  Read presentation.  Added more  ATPG this morning.

Also added to TA.  That one of yours is also is doing very well again.  (As of today.)

You are two for two.  A quick and a BIG two-for-two.  Nice going.

I also looked at each USA listed stock for all the presenting companies on the Rodman and Renshaw oil conference.  I already hold a few there - WEL, BPZ,  GST, KOG, NGAS.  I didn't find anything I'm attracted to for a buy at current price after putting the stocks through my screening process.  If I get a chance, I might read the various presentations to see if there's something like ATPG,  where it doesn't show up on my screens (I screen for fundamental measures, not volume or momentum), yet  there's some significant positive information that's available if one looks closer.   (Aside: I'm just saying I hold shares  in WEL, BPZ, GST, KOG, NGAS -- I'm not recommending any of them or saying they are a buy now or ever.  I'm pretty diversified and these stocks comprise only a small speculative portion of my portfolio.)

New to the group, so hi everyone.

I think PTRY looks cheap, thoughts? I also think GME is cheap here.

Casey - What ever happened on DFR? I read your entry and thought it was interesting. Like you, I like these contrarian plays. I would be curious if you ever looked at the company in more detail than in your original post.

My take - something else must have happened with this company other than superficial ties to mortgage bonds. Investors do not sell-off a stock from $150 to sub $1 without good reason, ever. A 22% dividend yield on a REIT trading at $5 dollars is not impressive. Think about what the yield was when it was $150... roughly 0.6%. If this is 90% of the company's earnings, then frankly they are not earning very much (I haven't looked at the IS yet). Anytime a REIT nears $0, this means bankruptcy is looming. REITS are generally beta instruments, meaning overall they trade with the market, and most have rebounded nicely. it looks like you bought some near $1, nice trade. But, in your view, what will drive the stock higher here? Why did initially sell-off so hard?

I agree the stock is cheap so I would be interested in your take.

PTRY looks better (cheaper) than my picks of SWY and SVU.    While I'm in these two though (and WMT), I'll pass on acquiring any shares of PTRY.

I have GME at a couple points lower.   (Also ERTS and HAS)   I'm holding on to these.

DFR too complicated for me.

Buying WLFC.   Low p/e, okay roe for the price you pay for it.  Company profitable each year in at least the past ten.
