Is Starbucks just a victim of the slowdown in our economy, or did they step on their own foot? Will they ever be the growth story they once were? They recently annouced they were getting rid of their breakfeast sandwhiches which at the time I thought was a good idea, but after returning from a trip to Florida, I'm now questioning this move. When we visited Starbucks each morning, the breakfeast sandwhiches were a hot commodity.
Upod, I also thought the sandwiches were a great addition to the stores. Just remember though, Starbucks execs are doing the best moves for the company, in their eyes. We will have to wait to see if this was a wise move. They are trying to focus more on their coffee since there have been these coffee wars and all the news about McDonalds and others. I believe their turnaround efforts will make a difference, as long as they don't overprice themselves. I am waiting for my ACH to clear so I can transfer money over to buy stock.
Welcome Woof. I agree we'll just have to take a wait and see approach. I don't think we'll know if the turnaround effort is having any effect unit the end of this year. Have you tried the new Pikes Place Roast by the way?
