Question from small-time investor...

(who's more of a buy&hold)

.. cause either I misread something, or I made a real rookie mistake somewhere (and lost $50 in the process??), and I"m not sure which is the case.. (probably the 2nd, but I figured I'd ask)

I don't invest a lot of money in the stock market... (usually no more than throwing a couple hundred in my account every month or month and a half depending on what kind of spare money I have).

I'd missed a few previous attempts, I assume due to the time issue and the fact that the stock never dropped back down to my target buy price (PZZI... you coulda dropped JUST for a tiny bit when I wanted it!  :)  )

So anyway I tend to stay to (under)$15 stocks  (and have learned to stay away from PinkSheets in the process!)...with very minimal numbers (under100 shares sort of purchases)... well, i liked the numbers I was seeing on BDCO yesterday  (I'd been watching it for a couple of months, and took it over GY), and put in a small order for 40 shares... If I remember the calculator numbers it was something like $207 purchase attempt (don't remember exactly what I put on the limit price)  on an account with $227 in it.  (come on bonus check.. i want money to play with!).

I go in to check the account today, and and it only bought 14 shares (about $57)... (at the $3.93 level) so I'm wondering what happened to the original 40 shares submission, as it should have had plenty of cash for that small of a purchase )   Does TK actually do a partial buy when it can't hit the full order?  (I mean if that's the only order available, okay, I can understand that, and chalk it up to a learning process on my end.)

No big deal... again, I'm only doing this with various pocket change when I have it, so that doesn't bug me too much...but then I look at the amount of the purchase AND the cash left over and it's not the 227 total... (it comes out to like 160)  so then I go in and do some reviews on my valid transactions... and something didn't add up correctly?

i've gone through the bookkeeping twice..  and my purchases came out to 532.87 (including fees) and the deposits came through to 700.00, thus there should be about 161 dollars in cash still in the account, but the summary for the account only shows about 107... in other words, somewhere along the way the system took out an extra 50 dollars that I cannot find any bookkeeping records for?  (failed trade attempts fees?  TK base fees?   I'm not sure.. but it should be in the bookkeeping records for anything like that, yes?)

It's highly possible I overlooked something for that tiny bit of money, but i'm not sure what I'm not seeing...

DaSaintFan,

I'll reach out to your email address on file with an explanation of what you're seeing. I believe you should find your balances at expected values at this time.
