Hello Beginning Investors,

Looking or a wee bit of help ... I am new to this activity. After reading a few books and surfing the web, I find the potential for both gain and losses is worth working with the stock market. Can any suggest reading materials (whether it be on this web site or books) that can help provide a good start to understanding stocka.

 Thank you,

I've read quite a bit, and personally I think the one I probably found useful was a book called "Rule #1" by Phil Town. Does an excellent job of explaining things from a beginner's point of view and does an excelling job of explaning how to increase your chances of making the best stock picks possible - I don't agree with 100% of his suggestions, but overall it's quite good.

Hello

I have a similar question/interest. I am also looking for decent reading material [so I can learn more]. I actually really enjoy audiobooks. I am a marathon runner so I am always training and running. I like to put the audiobooks on my iPod and listen to them while I run.

Anyhow, I am going to start a new topic for all users of this forum to post their favorite investment books, or just great investment reads in general.

I really like the book Get You Share by julie stav which goes into very detailed info on how to pick the best stock and how to read the charts using Morningstar.com. Another really good book is Mutual Fund for Dummies and The Bogleheads Guide to Investing. Good Luck!!
