Here's a couple ideas I would play if I had some more money. Currently I'm tied up with a call option on JCPenney based on the fact that they've hired a new CEO recently and are bringing in a the top marketing director from Target to "re-imagine the department store experience". This combined with my current belief that we're going to see a nice little rally over the next several days due to better than expected U.S. economic data ("The GDP in the third quarter is going to be stronger than the first two quarters combined”) makes me think JCP will move higher.
So, mostly based on this (alleged) better economic data and an (alleged) possible aid solution to the European debt problems, I like retailers like JCP, Tiffany's (TIF), Kohl's (KSS) and Target (TGT) as I feel they are solid companies whose stocks are oversold. A couple other random ones: Nike (NKE, not above $90), Joy Global (JOYG, not above $72), UPS (UPS, not above $67) and Amazon (AMZN, not above $225 - however the options are expensive anyway).
Also, there have been several news articles about several parties being interested in taking over Yahoo! (YHOO), including Microsoft. This lead to the stock jumping today (10/5), and I'm not entirely sure about it but if you get in early tomorrow the stock might see another decent jump. This will sound pretty morbid, but it will also be interesting to see what happens to Apple's stock on the news of Steve Jobs' death - I bet it'll drop drastically at open then make its way back up.
ALSO: I want emphasize that I'm going on the belief that the market is obviously much oversold (e.g. the retail stocks above, especially Tiffany's) and will rally based on news of better economic data and solution(s) to the European problems. The markets are very fragile and volatile right now, and any piece of bad economic or European news will most likely result in further declines. Therefore - there's a good chance I'm wrong; if so, please don't hurt me!

Thanks for the post. I like those calls assuming that things will get warm and fuzzy again. Nice research. Now the other problem is getting the money for the posts. Keep it coming.
