Try this (Schaeffer's Research on ETFs). As far as I know, this is as good as it gets. |

It depends on the ETF. One thing to check is volume traded. Some are very thinly traded and I would avoid those. I bought a USO call and learned that sometimes the option does not open for trading until almost 20 minutes after the general market opens. Not good when you want to get out! The most active are the large index ETF's like the QQQQ, SPY, XLE, etc. You can use TradeKing's Quotes + News + Research area to check whether a particular ETF is optionable. Enter the symbol. Click the Summary tab. Scroll down to "Key Measures". Check whether "Options Traded" is Y or N. |

That list is pretty handy! Thanks, I had not seen that resource before. |

Glad you like the listing. :) I found it doing a search on Live.com actually... I was curious myself also... if for nothing else than to expand my investing horizons. Also, thanks for the info about trading, Nicole... always good to hear some new thoughts on trading and use those in my trading. |

I am looking at both the XLV and XLF options - they are found on yahoo.com finance section. While the XLF looks like it still has more downside, I do like the XLV (Healthcare) ETF near current levels. These ETF's are a good way to diversify and play entire sector moves. |

making option plays on the QID (an ETF that goes up when tech goes down) is always fun
