Ok so this has come up elsewhere in suggestions threads, but I have seen no response, so I will drop a thread just to see if I am the only one (or one of very few) interested in this idea.

I do the majority of my web browsing on my cell phone, a windows mobile powered smartphone. Lots of peeple use them or blackberrys or Nokia Symbian phones.  The nifty, somewhat more secure flash keyboard does NOT work with flash lite.  You therefore CANNOT login to TK with our phones.

I cannot get anything other than dial up or connecting my phone to my computer to connect to the internet.  A mobile streamlined site would make my life so much easier and more enjoyable.  I like the advanced features of TK and hope this is a priority.

OK fellow TK clients sound off.  Am I up in the night or is this a needed feature?

I have a smartphone as well and would be very interested in mobile trading. I am on the road from time to time and the only internet access I have is on my phone. Theoretically most of my orders should be covered by limits and stops, but there are times when I might see a new opportunity develop on the fly and I would be interested in placing in order. Are there any plans for mobile trading in the future?

I use a java based phone (sony ericsson to be precise), generally the bundled browsers are crappy. I use opera mini (operamini.com) for my surfing, it renders as if its on normal PC, except u need to zoom to specifc parts.

opera mini works great on most pages, on tradeking the password applet freezes.

i click on 'why is tk enchaning securty' it brings me up a new applet, that is not instant; (which means, i click 1st char, page reloads, 2nd char, page reloads, 3rd character, page reloads) little painful, but it does the trick...

Hope this helps...

I am actually thinking of switching to another broker because of this very issue.  I signed up with TradeKing because of the low commissions - but I have become a far more active trader than I had planned on.  My employer frowns on using the internet for non-company purposes, and the 3G I-Phone is looking mighty attractive right now.

Does the Login Keyboard work on the iPhone?  It should right?  I am going to get an iPhone soon, and I would love some feedback on someone that owns one, and has tried logging into Tradeking.

I just purchased a new computer.. It is a full computer hp2133 ..very small and has a wireless card so I can use it with cell phone ability(don't need hotspots etc.) pay a fee for wireless service ..Have not used it yet just got it but others have used it for trading. the keyboard is also great.

Just  a thought for the solution to mobile trading

$tocker:

Unfortunately, the Iphone will not work with tradeking. The Iphone browser does not support flash based applications, which the login keyboard is. Thus it would be impossible to login to your tradeking account on your Iphone 3G : (

I am on on my iPhone typing this and a more mobile oriented version would be nice for on the go trading as long as security was well done. Any insight from tradeking on the future of this would be appreciated.

Hi all, sorry for the delay in responding. As a result of this and previous calls for mobile trading, I'm happy to report that we are now actively researching mobile trading platform alternatives. We hear you loud and clear and are taking this issue very seriously.

I do want to clear up one thing: we can log on to TK using our iPod touches and iPhone 3Gs here at the office, so we assume it works that way for others as well. I will disclaim that the two of us who tried are both using the 2.0 software upgrade (that also allows you to use apps! we're both kind of geeky tech addicts) so I don't know if that makes a difference.

Thanks again for the great and impassioned feedback - we heard you loud and clear! More updates to come when we have something more concrete to report.

Thank you for the official reply,

I have a windows mobile smart phone and will never have an IPhone (at least as long as it is on att)

I want a mobi that will work with all platforms, blackberry, win mobile, iPhone and the up and coming android. I know that eTrade has a blackberry tool, but it is exclusive to blackberry.  I also do not have 3G and living out in the country I am not likely to get in in the next year or 12.  I do have full strengh EDGE service (130to160K) and can use it.

Thanks for remembering the mobile people!

hey all, i have found a way to get here on my windows mobile smartphone. I have the skyfire beta and am posting this from my phone. The skyfire beta is a sign up thing, but flash is in it, and it has a small footprint. Google skyfire and sign up! they text you a link to download the beta. I will probaby buy the final version if they charge for it.

check out etrades new mobile trading platform.  awesome.  their charting, research, ach money movement, balance updates, makes TK website look simply primitive.  come on tk get with the program.  low commision rates will only take you so far....

plus etrade has 100 free trades for the first month the account is opened.  just make sure all the money is "collected" in your account b4 you start trading.  I really like tk, especially the commissions.  i'll get fired if I trade on my work computer.  I need a mobile service and platform I can count on.  That 100 free trades will make up the couple dollar difference in commission for a while.( I trade maybe 85 - 90 times per month). The best thing about etrade is all balances update immediately.  And its easier to move money around, and the site isnt so "stiff" like tk.  TK best thing is option requirements listed for each position, and the option strategy scanner, an awesome tool.  i'm gonna get my blackberry and see what TK looks like b4 I switch back.  If i look back over my history, the commission price is not where I made $, or where I lost $. hey hey hey hey hey
