SF, In retrospect, time after time I'd attempted to offer counterpoints and was picked at for any reason possible rather than my point itself explored.
At one point I offered the story of Upton Sinclair's book "The Jungle" and the way corporate America accused the president of being a socialist for acknowledging that allowing dead rats to be shovelled off factory floors & into meat processing bins was wrong and we needed regulations as well as regulatroy branches of government to enforce them.

I confused Teddy and Franklin D Roosevelt, misquoted the wrong one and effectively spent the next few pages of the thread hearing how stupid, illiterate and deceptive I am.

The very same behavior was repeated, over and over...if you had a point that might be valid, your grammar was picked at, or you misquoted the date, you forgot to put a comma where it should be...the original point is lost as you fight being angry at the insultive language used against you.

At one point I misquoted the writer of a song, then the authors of several books for giggles, the next page was devoted to what an "accidental liar" I am....the actual topic was long gone, I was being berated and accused for misquoting Dave Bowie or Michaerl Crighton and a point was proven.....the topics are only a facade for the real goal, righteous anger to any bizarre extreme.

It just got more and more bizarre, to the extent where the realization sets in that the goals of these threads is not to exchange thoughts or ideals, but to find blame and exert extrene levels of anger.

With the strong focus on wanting to point out defeciencies in my intelligence and mental status, I suspect there's a nasty void in this persons life that he seems to want to filll in the anonymity of his online experience, using politics as the label.

Whatever that problem is, it isn't my problem, nor should it be the forums.

incubus: I will refer you to a quote from Clerks that seems to fit what you're saying perfectly (which I unfortunately could not find a video clip of):

"I hope it feels so good to be right. There's nothing more exhilarating than pointing out the shortcomings of others, is there?"

Clerks, great flick, Kevin Smith, BRILLIANT.  Clerks had a great soundtrack too, wasn't Pearl Jam "State of Love and Trust" on that one?  One of my favorite songs ever.

I know nothing about Hondurus, but the entire world is backing the president there and not the coup so I'll side with popular majority on that.
It seems you would be less insulting given the fact that you admit you know nothing about the situation.  How stupid to say you know nothing, but then "side" with someone.  You should either educate yourself or admit the whole thing is over your head.

 It was not a coup.

The president won.   He was in power for his full term.   Then he refused to leave.  They have a congress and a supreme court like we do.  The congress and supreme court declared the president/dictator must step down.  He still refused.  So the congress ordered the military to remove him by force.

That is the REALITY.  You can call it a coup or whatever you want.  But it was NOT.   It was the people of a country upholding their own constitution.  The fact that Obama sides with the dictator is astounding and speaks volumes about his frame of mind.

You sound real conspiracy theorist themadride. Did you do any homework about that 22nd ammendment repeal before posting or are you just trying to inflame? .. Rush's comment (which somehow I hate to say I agree with): "So whoever you heard talking about it on Fox is also insane and you're insane for believing it."

And the White House press secretary was asked about this. Not only did the entire press corp laugh at the question (tell you anything?) but Gibbs flat out said the president supports two-term limits etc etc:

http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=102593

Think it's time to stop tuning into the crazies.

You can call me a conspiracy theory nut if you want to, but I am only pointing out some plain facts:  THERE IS A BILL IN THE HOUSE TO REPEAL THE 22nd AMENDMENT.  FACT.  (House Joint Resolution No. 5)

Now, anyone with half a brain would say what Obama did in the press conference.  He may or may not have anything to do with the move to repeal the Amendment.  Who knows and who cares?  The bottom line is that we can infer from his support of foreign dictators and his own abuse of power in the executive branch that he respects neither Federalism nor constitutional limits.

Now, I don't know if I have to draw it for you on a napkin or what, but he "supports limits" is a pointless statement.  If they do in fact repeal the 22nd amendment, do you doubt for one minute that we would take advantage of it to run again and again?

Nothing is certain, and I claim no "conspiracy".  What is happening is being done too much out in the open to be a conspiracy.

Those of you who are taking the "that could never happen in America" attitude, just imagine this is a story you are reading or a movie you are seeing.   What would happen next?

You are reading the history of this country 100 years from now:
 - We elect a "historic" president.
 - The economy crashes.
 - He appoints Czars without congressional approval.
 - He supports foreign dictators.
 - He appoints a "pay Czar".
 - He nationalizes banks and industrial companies.
 - And on and on.

    WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

The link SF posted is regarding Obama himself is in to opposition the proposed repeal of the 22nd amendment...yet you're still finding some kind of conspiracy, by reading between the lines, that tells you Obama isn't opposing it?
This is a perfect example of what I said before about a point being made, and the response is either a bizarre sidestep or an angry barrage of accusation replete with name calling.

For every bit of "conspiracy" you seem to find the current administration is involved in as far as regulation and "socialism"...had it not occurred to you that this is a drastic response to a drastic problem to the opposite extreme leftover from the last administration?

For giggles, I'll try this one more time...as a Libertarian, the general ideal is personal liberty and freedom from control via governing bodies.

What has been repeatedly ignored in these "adult" discussions is that the government itself is being governed, by a new sherif in town.

That "sherif" can be found on the Dow 30, either in large part or probably all via campaign funds (bribes) and special interest lobbying.

This new "governemnt" isn't elected by "We the People", but is a collection of the most avaricious and tenacious profit seekers sociaty has to procure.

This group is absolutely perfect for capitalism and profitability in the private business sector, but it should NOT be dictating law, regulation and policy for the welfare of the people.

History has shoiwn that you have not read past the first sentence, because you found a typo or misquote of mine to pick at, but at least maybe other members might see this and ponder the concept.

For those who'd like to read more, please take a look in the link below...BigDog posted this link weeks back in one of his blogs and it's EXTREMELY interesting to see who's been paying what to whom within our government.

The site is vast, but there are some VERY interesting "secrets" there -

Mad did not start this thread, you challenged his opinion and insulted him. And then belittle him instead of responding to his rebuttal. Perhaps you should review your own posts and see what they have to do with trading? I guess you can add me to the crazies, the President was removed under Constitutional authority, and something we should be supporting.

I just don’t like kicking someone when their down, this is a forum, easy to ignore someone, takes an effort to type a response, maybe we need an ignore button for those that are sensitive to the words of others.

Your response is the same as mine with just enough on the subject tossed in the middle of it to be "on-topic". I stated my piece in my original post that if the rest of the world was supporting his return to power, I'll go with popular opinion on this one since I am not overly informed on the subject. My original post did not focus on Honduras in any way and the conspiracy theorist comment had nothing to do with Honduras (if you read my post) it was directly related to the 22nd amendment comment (and that is clear in the post, notice the separation of paragraphs). I didn't take issue with his/your position on the Honduras issue yet somehow your entire post has now reinterpreted my position as saying that he's crazy for thinking that about the Honduran situation.

Perhaps you should review the original posts, and the entire thread before you respond as you did, incorrectly.

It is a forum and I could possibly maybe ignore someone's post but if it is in response to mine I will 99% of the time respond with something. Rarely do I say "screw this I don't care to say anything of substance because I think you are worthless" (just ask incubus, he'll attest to that), but in this case I actually found it not worth my time to respond to the dribble coming from him and wanted to express that.

Anything else?

Exactly the point I was trying to make, Mad has taken much of the blame, but conversation goes both ways. To engage him in conversation and then cry foul seems inappropriate. Maybe he over does the political stuff, but others respond and encourage, I’m just as guilty but all of TK’s wrath is coming down on him.

My full comment actually addressed this. I don't understand why you chopped up the full paragraph so that it fit the needs of the reply you wanted to post:

Translation: I rarely respond with "screw this I don't care to say anything of substance because I think you are worthless" but after seeing his posts I found their was no real headway that was going to be made, it was worthless to respond because the crazy would keep on coming. No, it is not so clear to any that are new here. Incubus, along with Mr. Reed, and Mad, has had an ongoing battle of opinion. Mr. Reed recently exited the battle (maybe he can tell you how many of his posts were deleted), except for an occasional post. Incubus and Mad are very stubborn and follow any political comment of the other. None of them are innocent in this endeavor, yet Mad gets the blame.

I fail to see what Incubus and Mr. Reed have to do with me.

Mad was the one that responded to me and I was addressing, he is also the one that started a thread with a repost of a private message from TK staff, not Mr. Reed and not Incubus. For all you know they received the same message. I am not going to debate TK's reasons for blaming someone or another. When mad posted that thread it was him that was forewarning me(and everyone) that his posts are known to be trash/misleading/inflamatory or otherwise unwanted. He has nobody to blame but himself for his posts and with making the post I just referencedt. His two (or so) replies in this thread to me I found to be worthless. So for me, it is clear and _I_ am the only person _I_ have to concern myself with. You apparently have to worry about your own posts as well as Mad, Incubus, and Mr. Reeds. Good luck with that.

El D, I can see you are a kind hearted and level-headed individual, but after being called Janine, wack-job, socialist, stupid, arrogant, ignorant and a veritable plethora of other well articulated, sentient forms of nomenclature, I have no compassion for Mad's "plight" when other members might patronize his forceful & angry ideologies.

Just the idea that this guy opened his first thread with propaganda such as equating Obama to Hitler with little concern for any individual that might be offended by his language makes him a target by default in my opinion....like walking into a biker bar and yelling "Harley's are for fairies"...but crying to management when reactions aren't favorable....you might at least introduce yourself first and maybe mingle with the other guests before imposing angry opinions.

I DID NOT vote for Obama...yet as soon as I at least attempt to give the guy credit for what he has done, I'm told I'm a flat out liberal, socialist, Janine...etc.

If he chooses to spend the rest of Obama's time in office whining about whats wrong with Obama...all the power to him, but I seriously doubt the majority of members or staff really want to hear it, maybe there's a forum on the internet that might welcome the lengthy diatribes, as well as the insults to anyone who may not agree with those highly informative literary works...but it seems like maybe this isn't that place.

Barely a post from him regarding stocks, trading, investment or idea's...99% of what he posts appears to be the intentional pursuit of antagonism and angry finger-pointing.

From what I hear, he even attempted to open a thread labelled "My investment strategy" which might lead members to think he'd finally decided to talk about something relevant to trading  or investing, and...sure enough, it was yet another Obama bash-athon.
