Cost basis information no longer takes options into account

Posted by archerman on October 28, 2010 (10:29PM)

Hi,
It used to properly show the cost basis. Example: I short MSFT $26 put at .80 and assigned. My cost basis is $25.20.

But after conversion it doesn't take option into account.

Please look into this.

Thanks

Archerman,

If you are assigned on an option contract the cost basis for the position that is received in the assignment will be adjusted by the amount of the premium acquired on your option sale. After reviewing your account it appears that the position you have referenced in your post is reflecting correctly. If you have any additional questions regarding this please feel free to contact us at 1-877-495-5464.

Sincerely,

Please take a look at GLD position in my account, I got it when shares were put to me, and the cost basis does not take $ received from put into account.
Thanks.
