I work in the gambling industry, and I've seen a lot of the discussion covering the problems Vegas has experienced.

If you are looking for a long-term investment, I would recommend looking at mid-sized gaming companies that have a small footprint in Vegas and other gambling Meccas.  The ones that had major regional resorts in other regions of the US fared better than the companies that had major holdings in Vegas.  For example, if Joe Six-Pack in Chicago had some money to burn during the bad economic times, he was more likely to go to the cluster of casinos serving the Chi-town area in Indiana than to travel all the way to Vegas.

But, I agree there is a lot of short-term trading potential for Vegas-centered companies if there is a change in their economic outlook. But I would be weary to make a guess at WHEN that change will occur.

In the spirit of what Imp suggested I just found Centrury Casinos - CNTY, micro-cap, operates casinos in Suthwest, around $1.20 in cash, $4.00 in book and trades at $2.50

Yea, I was just thinking with Citycenter newly opened, we really havn't seen many results good or bad from that yet, although I would imagine MGM's stacks in Macau could bring about some potential in the near future and possibly shift some good things towards Vegas as well.
