More QE not important
Should have "Modest Expectations" on Effects of Further Action
If Economy remains on current track, forecast, policy Stance becomes "Untenable"
Use of Further Balance sheets action brings "Manageable Risks"
output gap in middle range of estimates
possible that another policy decision looms
more stimulus would bring fed into "Uncharted Territory"
further fed action should be taken "Very Judiciously"
concerned long term unemployment could harden into structural problem
Otter Says..... "Ya Think!"... Hopium.... Did you get yours today?

I'm still wondering what the Fed thinks it can do when every signal productive people are getting from government both here and abroad tells them to stand down and wait for clarity. Hey I dig a fairy tale as much as the next guy, I'd love to live in a world where flipping a switch on a printing press solved all my problems. But the movie always eventually ends.
Milton Friedman would have us doing more through the Fed right now.
I'm waiting for the cookie cutter "You're a Liberal if you believe that" response.

Do what? As I said before I don't see what the Fed can do when there's no incentive for producers to produce.
So I'll ask again, what can and should the Fed do?
P.S. - Milton Friedman died several years ago, I get it that you have a very high opinion of yourself but seances? Really? If you really have that talent I'd like to hire you to communicate with my dead grandfather, my brother and I were talking about an old story he used to tell and disagreed on one part of it so I'd like to communicate and clear it up. He died in 1993, do you go back that far?

eh, , Patchy, my referencing Milty has a lot to do with your insistence that I'm not a Libertarian, or that I'm a left Libertarian and your understanding of "moderate" policies.
Milty, ya see, was a die hard monetarist, hence his famous "helicopter" statement added to Ben's name, he'd be doing what Bernanke has done, likely more to expand Fed balance sheet.
If you're unfamiliar with Milty, or don't understand why I'd reference him, you might want to stop and do a little homework on who he is and what your definition of "left" is.
Is the definition of "left" anyone who isn't accusing someone of something?...that it?

Hmm, no, dropping Friedman quotes does not a Libertarian make. Hey, here's one:
"The only purpose of a corporation is to earn profits." You all in on that Friedman quote? No "stakeholders" or any other touchy feely bullshit. Just get out there and earn profits for your shareholders, you evil corporation you!
"From each according to his abilities, to each according to his need." Does that make me a communist? Of course not.

I embrace the function for a corporation to make money in it's function within society.
I don't embrace a corporation buying my government to then make my government function as a sub-set of the corporations profits, in turn indenturing me and my fsamily to that function.
That is "Corporatism", the preferred word Mussolini used to explain Fascism..
