FDA Drug Announcements Question

Posted by treeHamster on June 27, 2012 (04:53PM)

So ARNA's drug was approved today and that made me wonder if anyone here knows if there is a scheduled announcement for each time the FDA announcements approval/denial of a drug. Is it like earnings calls when we know a couple weeks in advance what day and time it'll be or is it just it gets announced when it gets announced?

I use the FDA website

This website provides information of when a companies drug will be up for consideration.   http://www.rttnews.com/corpinfo/fdacalendar.aspx

By the time a trader finds out whether a drug has been approved or disapproved, it is too late.  The share price has either shot up or fallen.  My suggestion would be to buy a companies stock that you feel it's drug will be approved.  Go to their website and get on their email alerts.  That way you will be one of the first ones to know what the FDA decided and you can trade accordingly.  Good Luck in you endeavors.
