TradeKing Live Suggestion Thread
So you moved some stuff around so people do not know where things are now and added a 2 color switch?
This is an update? This is helpful? We waited this long to have the app function worse and be less intuitive?
My biggest grief is why the RT option chains (or charts < - I don't use that) view is even harder to get to now. Why? Do you think this is an improvement in intuitiveness? Does moving stuff around help anyone when in fact there was no reason to move anything? There was still plenty of room to leave everything where it was.. and still is. Speaking of charts (which i don't use), if you have a separate chart page why include a chart on main page? The "Research" button? why not just open a new window with with options chains and/or charts that can be left open along side main window? Switching back and forth is a test in patience.
My balances are now gone as well (along with the refresh button).
This goes along with "View Your Buying Power" - Why is this hidden now? Was it in the way? No, it wasn't. Someone got happy with the java? If you paid someone to do that you are fools. As usual my cash available up there (when un-hidden) is at 0.00 (money market or not, it's still cash available). Doesn't a single developer not see this for past 8 months?
Have your web developers actually traded using this realtime? Does it really seem easy to use, intuitive and fast to you?? Are the only people testing new 'beta' releases the web developers? Bad choice - always has been.
Fix the actual bugs before you start adding colors and moving stuff around and calling it an update! Form over function again.. ug. Make it function quickly, perfectly and intuitively first, then add your 'pretty' colors.

PS:
We have given you guys plenty of reasonable suggestions. You apparently did not listen and decided updating colors and moving things around was more important? At least you added an "Settings" button.. Which is one of the few things that made any sense in this 'update', though it's only settings (now anyway) affect colors or alerts.
And why is this ridiculously easy change keep being over looked? Functionality is king.Buster01 said:
Huh? That makes no sense.kiddo said:
i actually do. i'd rather lose $1000 at 10% than 2000 at 5%
For example, comparing the basis point change in the DOW and and GE serves no purpose. One is valued at 12,000 basis points and the other is at 20. What I (and 99.999% of others) want to see is a relational percentage change over the day, not the actual basis point change. Seeing the DOW move +$122 while GE moved +$1 would make it seem like the DOW moved way move when in real value, GE skyrocketed over the general market.
Indeed. I, for one, had asked to include this as an option under Settings (Since there seem to be some ppl who prefer price change over percent - though not sure why). In other words, your preference for a sort order based on % or point could be done under settings. (Or better yet a small button next to Refresh that could set each particular div/panel settings separately.)Buster01 said:

Again, it has seemingly been ignored. Every trade software I have used (to repeat a previous post) uses a percent change not a point change. Maybe check out Google Finance and see how they do it (if you need and example on how to sort a portfolio/watchlist based on day change).
But again fix any bugs before worrying about adding things. You add more things to a buggy system.. guess what? You get more bugs. Doh.
Hmm. I've had some issues, but the chains are usually accurate/rt for me. If switching (ug) to Option Chains under Research, and picking a symbol/date, it may take a few seconds but it usually works for me. Switching back to 'My TK' from Chains causes a longer pause. This is why options/charts/et al should be in it's own window if doing 'Research' or a trade from research.. The main window should always be running. The refresh takes just too long - so long on occasion that I thought browser crashed.Buster01 said: The options chains always show no activity and never update for me. I agree with Morediv that fixing actual bugs is more advantageous to all over ascetic changes.
The "percentage change" column is clearly broken (only in TK Live) as it sorts by numerical change and not percentage change. Sorting by numerical is completely useless as the stocks are not relative to one another. Please fix this bug or programming error, thanks in advance.
Thank you for the continued support of LIVE. I've reached out to Product. I'll confirm for you tomorrow.

This single column look should only occur in a browser window with narrowed width. Expanding your width or maximizing the window should revert you to the two column view. If this does not, please PM me or email my attention at Service@TradeKing.com. I'll need to get your screen size, resolution ratio/size, browser and version that you're using, and how long of width you'd estimate you're using on the browser. The chart not sticking to the previously selected option is a recently known issue, and I'll let you know once this correction is in place.
Moolah, we've received some feedback on both sides of the aisle regarding the new layout, and I can hear you loud and clear on it somewhat favoring larger screens. I know Product has tossed around a few ideas on space saving since 1.5 was released, but this isn't going to happen in the next immediate releases, and is still essentially on the idea board. Their some challenges too, like keeping functionality for iPad users. I want to continue the thanks for the feedback. It's been instrumental in LIVE development thus far, and John, please let me know if this resolves the sizing for you.

We have now added the ability to customize the data in your watch list. You can now move the column headers by dragging and dropping, as well as choosing what columns you would like to see. You can do that by clicking on the new "Edit Columns" button.
Check it and out, and feel free to let us know what you think.

I would like a "show chart" button added to the watchlist section and the holdings section, possibly a detailed quote button would be more useful (and less annoying) the then "twisty".
- Watchlist needs to have folders!!! please we need to be organized.
- It would be great to be able to go directly from the watchlist to a chart of that stock without needing to type in the symbol into the chart window every time ... thats very annoying,
- I guess you are working on it already but PLEASE: INDICATORS for the chart!
- thinner lines for the indicators and wow do they look ugly if your time setting is 1 day.
- if you alter the time frame of the chart you need to do several clicks, by clicking on time setting, then a window pops up and you can choose then, thats far to complicated, make the time setting directly accessible at the chart, one click!
- Chart need to say the current ask/bid price
- permanent trade window so that you can fill everything in and before pulling the trigger go to the chart one more time or just wait to think about it one more minute
- dollar to stock number converter of your bid price in the trade window so you don't need to pull up a windows calculator to do it.
Thats it for now. I know we give you a hard time right now but we have lost a good working UI with features that we are used to which are simply missing in the TK LIVE.
The auto update is the only good thing i see so far with TK LIVE but compared to what is missing that is nothing that can make me really like TK live right now, i'm sorry.
Hope improvements are quickly done.
any chance to make the charts load faster?
