Green Bay Packers Stock

What does everyone think of buying some of the soon to be released Green Bay Packers stock at $250 per share?  Think there are any short or long term gains to be made there?

Im pretty  new to investing - trying to look up the symbol for them but can't seem to locate it...any help there?

Never mind, I think I was able to find out answers to my own questions - no gains or dividents on the stock at all.

I just hope their running backs can break through resistance.

From what I have seen. This is NOT a "real" stock.. They are not paying dividends, and basicly it is a loyalty thing, to "own" a part of a local team....

I see the stocking going below the 250 and staying there.. it might spike above for a bit. but it is in effect a paper version of the elvis commemorative plate..

No Position owned AND no elvis plates owned.

Yeah, basically it's a smart scam.  From what I understand, you can't resell it meaning you've just lost your $250.  So it's worse than buying a ticket, unless you get some sort of compensation like VIP parking or something.

This is America; we recognize the right to cover your body with the articles of clothing of your choice. You could spend a lot less than buying team licensed sweatshirts, but other than another fan, no one will pay you a premium for the insignia..  In this sense Packer stock is an investment vehicle like snake oil is medicine.

I grant you that beauty is in the eye of the beholder; if Lenin had won stock certificates would have been nothing but nostalgic wallpaper.  It is always incumbent to do an analysis that assesses is there a market for this beyond me and my friends. If the market is extremely limited, you buy with the knowledge that you are about to play an expensive game of musical chairs (and the winner is the who remains seated – maybe I should have said ‘Hearts”)

There are some who feel that it doesn’t matter what the stock does, only the ‘action’.  If this works it is merely for short term traders, preferably those who don’t hold overnight.
