Cancelling orders in post market trading
I had an existing limit sell order in place already when the market closed. Seeing the stock price go up over my limit price in post market hours, I tried to cancel the existing limit order so I could sell in post market. After cancelling the existing limit order it showed as Next Day in my order status and I could not place a post market limit sell order because the other order was still technically in place and accounted for the position in the stock already.
Does anyone or the TK staff know why the order isn't actually cancelled until the next day in this case?
In pre market I can cancel existing limit orders without issue so not sure why this happens in post market.
Good Morning Corbin2:
Once the market closes trade requests are reviewed for the next business day, this includes order cancellations. We cannot get official out reports online for cancellations of regular hours orders until the following morning. What you can do in that situation is to give us at call at 877-495-5464 to request the cancellation, typically we can get an out by phone, that would then allow us to take your after hours trade by phone. There is no extra fee for that service.

Ended up in better shape selling this morning anyway. I guess it was density. (Back to the Future joke)
Thanks for the info Neal!
